Why Join: 

Research shows that when parents are actively involved in their children’s education, students achieve more—they earn higher grades and test scores, attend school more regularly, and complete homework more consistently. As part of a statewide and national PTA network, we amplify that impact beyond our own school. Together, we have a voice in front of state legislators and members of Congress, influencing policies and laws that shape the future for all children.

What Do We Do: 

Our PTA builds a welcoming, equitable, and connected school. Highlights of our work include:

• Build community & connection: Support Classroom Connectors, parent affinity groups, Comunidad de Corazón, Site Council, and school-wide events that bring families, students, and staff together.

  Advocate for our school community: Organize caregiver and student advocacy around PPS rightsizing, school funding, and district policies, including community meetings, testimony, outreach to School Board members, and sharing important district updates.

  Support families when they need it most: Support the school resource closet and food pantry, provide support through our Family Resilience Fund and Rapid Response network, and connect families with resources, financial assistance, and Know Your Rights trainings.

  Create a safe, welcoming & joyful school: Host events like Harvest Fest, support staff appreciation, celebrate Kindergarten, 5th, and 8th grade milestones, and create opportunities for families to build relationships and celebrate our school community.

  Make our school better: Support Safe Routes to School, recycling efforts, campus beautification, classroom engagement, recess resources, and enrichment opportunities like Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB).

  Build an inclusive school where every family belongs: Strengthen engagement with Black, Multiracial, and Latina/o/x families, expand multilingual communication, support incoming Kindergarten families, and center equity and inclusion in PTA decisions and programs.

PTA members help shape the activities we take on each year. Join today - it’s easy, gives you a vote at membership meetings, and includes our monthly e-newsletter. Membership is open to everyone, with a sliding scale from $0-$25. As a member of the Oregon PTA, we are required to pay $11.50 per member to them for liability coverage. The rest of your contribution goes toward supporting the activities listed above.

Membership for the 2026-27 school year includes a welcome packet, a chance to win a $350 gift card to Great Wolf Lodge, and bi-annual member appreciation events.
